Blankee Bee

Blankee Bee

Blankee Bee started up again last year, on the first Tuesday of the month at Temple Emanu El. We are looking forward to members getting together this year beginning in November, to continue the program. This is a fun, non-sewing project. Besides assembling blankets, the group uses fabric corners to make port covers for cancer patients.

In the past, our blankets and port covers were donated to patients undergoing chemotherapy at SMH, Florida Cancer Center, and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Center in Sarasota. Last year we donated blankets to Selby Preschool, which is located on the campus of the Haven. This year we are preparing the blankets for an art project for the campers at Camp Mariposa.
